How should the modern education system be designed?

Imagine , I give you a couple of pages to read . Once you're done , I give you a sheet of paper and ask you pen down whatever you REMEMBER! Right remember, not understood.

That's how the modern education system works.

Schools are basically the opposite of what you need to be successful. Think I'm just another frustrated engineering student? I could prove you wrong!

Rule No 1: Don't make a mistake.

That's what schools teach us , I don't think this needs any explanation.

Not making a mistake is a big mistake in itself.

Rule No 2: Don't ask for help from anyone.

I'm not saying cheating in exams can be justified. In fact I have a real problem with exams. There's no application of practical knowledge.

 So what do we do?

What schools completely get wrong is imposing a certain method for students to basically memorize stuff and name it intelligence or call it thier calibre as a student.

Like for example , I topped Social Studies back in school but I don't remember anything related to it now or even right after the exam for that matter.

We desperately need an education system that teaches kids about financial literacy, managing taxes which is the kind of education they could actually put to use.

Group projects need to be promoted which promote teamwork and application of knowledge. Students need to be given an atmosphere where they can create, innovate new things , feel free to explore Science , Literature or anything they're interested in. Imagine the possibilities that would open up if we managed to get there.

Just to simply put it this way, this education system is basically non functional. I can get whatever information I want with just a couple of clicks. Where are these exams exactly taking us?

Show me one guy who genuinely ENJOYS studies.

School and college days are the best days of our lives. In fact, no matter how much we keep complaining about the flaws of our education system, nobody has ever regretted those days of joy and laughter which we can only cherish for the rest of our lives.

Students need to focus on developing financial skills , interpersonal communication skills which will benefit them in the long run more than a sheet of paper that's got a couple of numbers writen on it.
